PRIVACY POLICY
Eighteen sections cover audience, local state, permissions, notes, deletion, backup, safeguarding, professional boundaries, and postal contact.

Light on the Hill Charities, Inc. is responsible for Beacon Fieldbook on Android. This policy applies only to the installed app and its on-device features. It does not govern Android, Google Play, a device manufacturer, an email or postal provider, or another service. Effective date: August 4, 2026.

Beacon Fieldbook is intended for adults, including church leaders, mission-team facilitators, and lay volunteers. It is not designed as a child-directed service. Adults remain responsible for authorization, supervision, local policy, and appropriate participation whenever an activity involves children or adults who may need additional protection.

The app provides offline educational folios about listening, adult leadership, facilitation, service preparation, cultural humility, safeguarding, accessible gathering spaces, stewardship, debriefing, Scripture references, and nonsensitive personal reflection. It is not a grant application, donation, messaging, certification, case-management, emergency-response, or official record system.

The app does not collect or transmit personal data to Light on the Hill Charities, Inc. or to a developer server. It has no internet permission and does not send notes, checklist choices, studio selections, device identifiers, usage events, diagnostics, or location data. The app does not request names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment details, or account credentials.

If used, checklist choices, Roundtable Studio selections, a nonsensitive note, and the last open screen are stored locally in the app's private storage on the device. Android may also retain temporary interface state while the app process remains available. This information is used only to restore the user's local experience.

Users must not enter names or contact details, information about children, health or disability details, allegations, incident reports, beneficiary records, passwords, travel documents, financial information, confidential ministry cases, or other sensitive data in Private Field Notes. The feature is only for a general personal reminder or learning question. Official records belong in systems approved by the responsible organization.

Beacon Fieldbook requests no internet, location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, phone, SMS, notification, storage, Bluetooth, advertising, biometric, or other dangerous Android permission. It reads only the images and educational text packaged inside the app and uses app-private storage for optional local state.

The app has no registration, login, user profile, membership, or cloud account. Therefore, there is no app account to delete. Local information can be erased using Clear note or Reset local data, through Android's Clear storage control, or by uninstalling the app.

The app contains no advertising, analytics, attribution, remote configuration, crash-reporting, social-network, behavioral tracking, or telemetry SDK. It does not create an advertising profile, use an advertising identifier, fingerprint a device, or measure engagement on a remote service.

Because the app does not transmit user data, the publisher does not share, disclose, rent, or sell app-entered information to advertisers, data brokers, affiliates, or other third parties. A person with access to an unlocked device may still be able to view local app content.

The app does not open web pages, send email, place calls, upload or export notes, share content, or connect to a backend. Source addresses are shown as plain text for transparency. Postal correspondence occurs outside the app and is governed by the sender's chosen postal service.

Optional checklist choices, studio selections, and a saved note remain in app-private storage until the user changes or deletes them, resets local data, clears app storage, or uninstalls the app. The publisher cannot remotely view, recover, or set a retention period for data that never leaves the device.

Clear note removes the saved note. Reset local data removes the note, checklist state, and studio selections. Android backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for the app, including its shared preferences and files. Uninstalling the app removes its private local data; reinstalling starts with an empty local state.

The app minimizes risk through offline operation, no network permission, no remote SDKs, app-private Android storage, and disabled backup and transfer. It does not add a separate passcode or end-to-end encryption. Device security, operating-system integrity, lock-screen settings, malware protection, and physical access remain the user's responsibility.

Beacon Fieldbook is written for adults and does not knowingly collect children's data. It has no youth profile, attendance record, private messaging, public posting, precise location, social feature, or targeted advertising. Its safeguarding folio is educational and does not replace local law, an organization's written policy, authorized screening or training, a designated safeguarding lead, or emergency services.

The app does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, tax, financial, investment, accounting, architectural, engineering, construction, security, travel, crisis, or emergency advice. It does not investigate reports, dispatch help, guarantee safety, promise spiritual or health outcomes, determine grant eligibility, or confer certification. Seek qualified and authorized help for those matters and contact local emergency services when anyone may be in immediate danger.

A future app release may update this policy if app behavior changes. The effective date will be revised and the in-app and public versions should remain materially consistent. Users may choose not to use optional notes or checklists, may erase local state at any time, and may stop all app processing by uninstalling the app.

Postal correspondence occurs outside the app and is handled according to the recipient organisation's applicable practices. Do not mail urgent, safeguarding, medical, or emergency reports; use the appropriate local and organizational channels.
